Ball Design Limited History

I set it up in April 1996, to become a contract draughtsman working for automotive and associated industries.

I have worked in the industry since leaving school in 1987, and served my apprenticeship with Hawtal Whiting, working on the drawing boards.

Since then I have worked on various vehicles for a number of companies.

I got trained on CADDS 4X in May 1994 and have become proficient in solid modelling, surfacing, wireframe modelling and detailing. I have also touched on Parametric modelling since I did the course in December 1995, but I have only used it a couple of times in anger.

In April 2000 I completed a basic Catia course, but since then I have not really used it.

In March 2001 I completed a Full SDRC C3P course at Jaguar Cars Limited in Coventry. I have since used it at Lear Corporation and at Magna Seating Systems in Nottingham.

I worked on the cancelled F-Type, the new aluminium XK, and on the S-Type replacement, all at Jaguar Cars in Coventry.

I am now working for Ricardo2010 in Radford Semele, Leamington Spa. Since my training on Catia V5 in August 2004, I have used it solidly. I have over 3500 hours of V5 experience, and full TCe training as well.

The Directors of the company are me, (Nicholas Ball), and Tracey Ball.
